The oversized feeding hopper is made of 10 mm thick manganese steel. Featuring great wear resistance and strong impact resistance, it is capable of crushing materials with extra-large diameters.
The machine’s outer enclosure is formed via integrated bending, with zero weld seams across the structure.
Local or remote control, with automatic feed monitoring to guarantee stable machine operation under all conditions.
700L high-strength steel discharge frame delivers high tensile strength, excellent toughness and light weight.
The discharge conveyor belt uses chevron-pattern nylon rubber. It boasts superior wear resistance and anti-slip properties, sturdy and durable for heavy-duty material conveying.
Optional engines of Weichai, Yuchai or Cummins; electric solutions are also available.
The WD Series Tub Grinders handle a wide range of biomass feedstocks, especially woody materials including waste wood, tree roots, stumps, trunks, branches, construction formwork, wood pallets and wood slabs, as well as agricultural residues such as cotton stalks, corn stalks and straw.
The WD Series Tub Grinders deliver a standard wood chip size of 5–10 cm, and is fully customizable to match operational requirements.
For example, biomass power plants typically burn straw, waste wood and branches as fuel. To meet boiler specifications, straw must be 6–10 cm in length, while wood and branch feedstock should be processed to 5–8 cm or finer.
The final output size is determined by screen aperture, rotor speed and number of blades.
The WD Series Tub Grinders features three purpose-built rotor types — blade rotor, hammer rotor — each optimized for processing distinct feedstocks. With quick, hassle-free rotor changeover, it delivers exceptional multi-task grinding versatility, adapting seamlessly to varying materials and production requirements.
The blade rotor of the WD Series Tub Grinders has been meticulously engineered. The rotor housing is fabricated from 25 mm thick high-manganese wear-resistant steel, while the main shaft is made of 45Cr alloy steel. Blade options include 55SiCr, H12 and Cr12MoV steel grades, all manufactured through a forging process, delivering excellent thermal fatigue resistance, wear resistance and impact resistance. The blades are secured by bolt sleeves and blade clamp plates, which reduces blade wear while protecting the blade body from direct impact by the material. Internally, the rotor is reinforced with five strengthening ribs and carries an additional 600 kg of internal weight, bringing the total rotor weight to 3 tons. This delivers exceptional inertia for greater cutting force and higher throughput.
The WD Series Tub Grinders is equipped with an American WPT clutch, whose heavy-duty industrial design ensures smooth power engagement and efficient transmission. Its start-up cushioning and overload protection significantly reduce shock to the engine and drivetrain, while high torque capacity and self-compensating wear adjustment minimize maintenance frequency and downtime, keeping the machine stable and reliable even under harsh, dusty and high-vibration conditions. As a leading American brand certified to ISO 9001-2015 and endorsed by ABS/DNV classification societies, WPT also serves as a mark of quality for the Unimax in international markets, strengthening customer trust and competitiveness.
The WD Series Tub Grinders are available with two power system options: electric motor and diesel engine. Engineered to deliver cost-effective power solutions for customers, they allow selection of the optimal power configuration to match diverse grinding scenarios and processing tasks. Electric motor options include brands such as Siemens and Wolong, while diesel engine options feature Weichai and Cummins.
The intelligent feed system self-monitors the machine’s engine speed, makes predictive adjustments and holds the engine at an optimal level, When the load is too large, the hopper will rotate in the reverse direction, so there is no need to worry about the problem of material jam. At the same time, The hydraulic lift device can lift the inlet system at a large angle when the machine needs maintenance. The rotor will be exposed for easy work. Reduce labor costs and no need for a crane copperation.
The WD Series Tub Grinders are equipped with a dual control system that supports two operating modes: a fixed electrical control cabinet and a remote control interface. The two modes complement each other to enable smart, user-friendly operation. Both the feeding and travel systems incorporate intelligent design, which not only enhances operational safety but also delivers a convenient and intuitive user experience.
Remote control crawler self-propelled, easy to move, maximum moving speed 2km/h
Can be towed by trucks, loaders, excavators, Support optional air brake
The Horizontal grinders allow for continuous feeding of long and straight material such as timber, branches, slab, batten, wood core, roots, bark, waste veneer, particle board, fiber board, sugarcane, reed, bamboo. etc.
Both Unimax horizontal and tub grinders excel at processing wood waste into saleable products. Choosing between a horizontal grinder and a tub grinder depends on your specific needs, including the types of materials you need to process, desired output size and consistency, mobility requirements, space availability, and budget considerations. Horizontal grinders allow for continuous feeding of long and straight material, while tub grinders are ideal at processing bulky and irregularly shaped materials like whole trees, stumps, brush, and demolition debris.
